Key programming on Fiat Ducato, Fiat 500L and Iveco Daily 2020+ (PIN from the BCM EEPROM with ABProg and ZN057)

Fiat/FCA Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 90-180 min 10 steps

On the Fiat Ducato, Fiat 500L and Iveco Daily from 2020 the PIN cannot be read via OBD: you have to remove the BCM, read the 95640 SPI EEPROM with the ABProg programmer and pull the PIN code from it, then prepare the transponder and finish with Key Learning.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • ZN030 ABProg
  • ZN057 EEPROM wire extender
  • ZN002 PROTAG
  • ZN003 PROTAG
  • CB019 FCA Secure gateway cable
  • ZN051 Distribution Box
⚠ WarningThe read requires the ZN057 adapter to be soldered onto the BCM EEPROM as per the diagram in the manual: this is invasive work on the body computer board. The procedure has to be carried out with the ZN030 ABProg programmer and an up-to-date ABProg software. If the vehicle has the security gateway you need the CB019; if communication still will not go through with the CB019, work on direct CAN through the Distribution Box.

Procedure

  1. Remove the BCM from the vehicle and open the module's plastic cover.
  2. Locate the EEPROM on the board and solder on the ZN057 adapter (EEPROM wire extender for the ABPROG EEPROM/BCM adapter) following the connection diagram in the manual, which shows where and how to connect the adapter on this BCM.
  3. Connect the ZN030 ABProg programmer and read the 95640 SPI memory using an up-to-date ABProg software: the PIN is derived from the contents of this memory.
  4. Save the file you have read onto the PC.
  5. Start the FCA software, open "Special Functions" > "Transponder Maker" and load the file read from the EEPROM.
  6. Using the Transponder Maker, prepare an ID46 7936 (or 7946) transponder with the PROTAG ZN002 or ZN003 programmer.
  7. Refit the BCM to the vehicle and restore the connections.
  8. If the vehicle is fitted with a security gateway module, fit the CB019 cable between the OBDII socket and the AVDI.
  9. If communication still fails even with the CB019, use the ZN051 Distribution Box with an external power supply and connect the CAN wires with needle pinches on ports 6 and 14 of the DS Box, tapping onto the internal CAN wires near the BCM.
  10. Run the "Key Learning" procedure with the PIN you obtained and the prepared key, then test the engine start and the remote control.
