When all keys are lost you can read the EEPROM of the immobiliser or smart module, have the software generate a MASTER key and write the modified dump back into the module. From there the other keys are added through diagnostics.

⚠ WarningOn smart access systems ONLY Genus keys may be used. Keys generated from a dump on smart systems only work as a master when held against the START/STOP button, and their remote does not work: to get a complete key, follow up with "Key Learning" in add-key mode with a master available, i.e. without resetting the system.
Procedure
Locate and remove the module: separate immobiliser or smart system (usually behind the glovebox). Identify the module from the manual photos and from the memory type: Tokai Rika immobiliser with 93C66 EEPROM and ENCRYPTED dump; VISTEON with 93C56 EEPROM; VALEO with 24C04 EEPROM; Smart Access Module (Certification ECU) with 93C66 or 93C86 EEPROM; ID-Box with external 93C46 EEPROM.
Read and save the module EEPROM with an IC programmer (ABPROG for example). Always keep an untouched copy of the original dump before making any change.
Open the "Transponder Tool" special function with the PROTAG connected and select "Transponder by dump".
Load the dump you read: the software automatically identifies the vehicle type and tells you which transponder or key is needed for programming. The more recent immobilisers with encrypted dumps are supported as well.
Prepare the required blank: for separate immoboxes, Genus keys, virgin Texas 4D transponders or TPX1/TPX2; for immobilisers integrated in the engine ECU (Texas 4C or ID33), Genus keys, Texas 4C or TPX1; for smart access systems, Genus keys only.
Program the key with the PROTAG following the software's instructions.
Write the new dump modified by the software back into the module with the same IC programmer, then refit the unit to the vehicle.
The key generated works as a MASTER: with the car startable, carry on in diagnostics with "Key Learning" to add further keys (a second key, for example, which will be a slave).
Note for smart systems: this route does not require access to the vehicle's ID-box, which is usually in a very awkward place to reach.
