Power supply during procedures: BSU02 Battery Support Unit and the ZN062, ZN063, ZN083, ZN084 adapters

An overview of the Abrites power supplies: the BSU02 Battery Support Unit (Flash-Mem 100) holds the vehicle voltage steady during long operations, while the various DC adapters feed bench accessories at the correct voltage.

⚠ WarningFor 24V truck modules worked on the bench, the ZN084 - 24V/4A adapter is strongly recommended. Every accessory has its own dedicated power supply: ZN062 12V/0.5A for the ZN055, ZN063 12V/1A for the ZN059 and ZN060; do not mix them up.

Procedure

  1. Before any long in-vehicle procedure (programming, flashing, password extraction), connect the BSU02 - Battery Support Unit Flash-Mem 100 to the vehicle battery to hold the voltage steady.
  2. For the ZN055 EWS3 adapter use the ZN062 - 12V/0.5A DC power adapter.
  3. For the VAG cluster mini DB adapters, that is the ZN059 (VDO) and ZN060 (Micronas), use the ZN063 - 12V/1A DC power adapter.
  4. When a 5V supply is needed use the ZN083 - 5V/2A DC power adapter.
  5. For 24V truck modules on the bench use the ZN084 - 24V/4A DC power adapter, as recommended for work with the ZN181 set.
  6. Check the open-circuit voltage with a multimeter before connecting the module, then start the procedure from the Abrites software.
