Porsche Panamera: key from dump with Motorola 9S12XDP512 / 9S12XEP100 MCU

Procedure for preparing a Porsche Panamera key starting from the EEPROM dump of the Motorola MCU. Use it when the key has to be made on the bench by reading and rewriting the module.

⚠ WarningThe modified dump must be written back into the Motorola MCU in the D flash section: it is that write operation that makes starting work. Always save the modified dump to a new file, without overwriting the original read.

Procedure

  1. Remove the module and read the EEPROM of the 9S12XDP512 or 9S12XEP100 MCU with a programmer, saving the read to a file.
  2. Start the Tag Key Tool with the PROTAG connected and load the EEPROM dump you have just read into the software.
  3. Choose the key position where you want to write the new key.
  4. Place the new key in the correct slot of the PROTAG and press "Prepare key".
  5. The software modifies the dump: save it to a new file when prompted.
  6. Write the modified dump back into the Motorola MCU, in the D flash section.
  7. Refit the module and check: the vehicle must start with the prepared key.
