The ZN151 (DS Box) is the distribution box that lets the ECU Programming Tool read and write ECUs in bench and in boot mode. This is the correct connection and power-up sequence before any read.

⚠ WarningThe Distribution Box DB15 cable must be disconnected from power while you are wiring the unit. Connect the DB15 to the ECU first following the pinouts, then the DB15 to the Distribution Box, and only at the end feed the box with external 12V. The 5V supplied by the AVDI is not enough to run the ECU.
Procedure
Connect the AVDI to the PC where you installed the Abrites software.
Connect the CB402 cable to the AVDI on the dedicated side and to the ZN151 on the other side.
Power the DS Box using the ZN074 set (ECU reading set) and the two dedicated positive and ground plugs in the ZN151's sockets. The ZN074 is designed to work together with the ZN151 and cannot be used on its own.
As an alternative to the ZN074 you can power the Distribution Box with 12V from a bench power supply or any reliable 12V source: one end of the cable goes to the source, the other straight into the Distribution Box's positive and negative sockets.
Choose the cable running to the ECU: CB401 (supplied with the ZN151 set) or CB403 (extended version, for the more modern connectors the CB401 doesn't cover), plugging it into the DS Box DB15 port.
Wire the ECU following the PIN OUT diagrams in the manual, ALWAYS starting from GND before any other wire.
Check you have the full chain before reading: AVDI connected to the PC, ZN151 connected to the AVDI, ECU wired, DB15 plugged into the box, external 12V supply connected last.
