Procedure

  1. Read the designation on the label and find the entry: ME17.5.6 TC1767 (Volkswagen), ME17.5.20 TC1767 (Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen), ME17.5.22 TC1724 (Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen), ME17.5.24 TC1724 (Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen), ME17.5.26 TC1724 (Skoda).
  2. Check the microcontroller on the board: ME17.5.6 and ME17.5.20 are TC1767, while ME17.5.22, ME17.5.24 and ME17.5.26 are TC1724.
  3. For the ME17.5.6 use the base diagram and, if you need boot mode, the "BSL connection" given under the same entry.
  4. For the ME17.5.24 the manual gives BSL and bench connections together ("BSL and Bench connections"): pick the one suited to the job and wire accordingly.
  5. Build the loom following the pins and colours in the drawing, then re-check every wire before applying power.
  6. Power the ECU on the bench, connect the AVDI and start the read from the software.
  7. Save the original file and check its integrity before moving on to the write.
