The ABPROG (ZN030 set) is the Abrites programmer for memories and microcontrollers: with its adapters it reads and writes EEPROMs, BCMs, NEC, MC9S12, V850/V850ES/V850E2 and the BMW EWS3. You use it when the data cannot be reached over OBDII and you have to go to the chip.

⚠ WarningThe ZN034 - ABPROG flat cable adapter is obsolete and should no longer be used. The ZN055 EWS3 adapter requires the dedicated ZN062 12V/0.5A power adapter: do not power it from any other source.
Procedure
Connect the ABPROG (ZN030) to the AVDI; if you need more reach use the CB101 - AVDI extension cable for ABPROG (ZN030).
To read and write EEPROMs and BCMs in-circuit, fit the ZN031 - ABPROG EEPROM/BCM adapter.
If the chip is desoldered or has to be read off the board, use the ZN035 - ABPROG EEPROM socket.
If the wires of the EEPROM/BCM adapter do not reach the soldering point, use the ZN057 - EEPROM wire extender for ABPROG EEPROM/BCM adapter.
For NEC microcontrollers choose between the ZN033 - ABPROG NEC adapter (direct connection) and the ZN032 - ABPROG NEC adapter with socket (desoldered chip).
For PCF transponders and memories use the ZN046 - PCF for ABPROG.
For the BMW EWS3 use the ZN055 - ABPROG EWS3 adapter, powered by the ZN062 - 12V/0.5A DC power adapter; this combination is the one intended for special function VN006.
For V850 micros pick the right adapter: ZN078 - V850ES adapter for ABPROG or ZN058 - V850E2 adapter for ABPROG.
For Freescale/NXP MC9S12 use the ZN086 - MC9S12 adapter for ABPROG.
With the connection checked, open the Abrites software, select the chip type matching the adapter you fitted and run "Read"; always save the original dump before any "Write".
