The "Flash" function works much like NVData but on the ECU's flash content: use it when the flash file has to be transferred from one unit to another, or for flash tuning purposes. You can read, save to file, load from file and write to the unit.

⚠ WarningBefore writing, always save the original flash read from the unit to file. Guarantee a stable power supply for the whole operation: an interruption during the write leaves the ECU dead.
Procedure
Plug the AVDI into the OBDII socket and give the vehicle a stable supply with a suitable battery support unit.
Turn the ignition ON, start Abrites Diagnostics for Volvo and select the vehicle.
Open the special functions menu and select "Flash" with a double-click.
From the drop-down menu choose the unit you want to work on: only the units supported by the function appear in the menu.
Read the flash out of the unit and immediately save the content to a file on the PC (original backup, to be kept).
If you need to transfer the file to another unit or write a modified file, use the load-from-file function to open the file you want.
Start the write (update) into the unit and do not interrupt it or touch the connections until the procedure has finished.
When it is done, cycle the ignition off and on, run a DTC scan, clear the codes generated and road-test the vehicle.
