The basic diagnostic function of Abrites Diagnostics for Volvo: it identifies the ECUs fitted to the vehicle, reads and clears the fault codes (DTC) of all modules or of a single one, and saves the scan report to file. It is the first step before any special function.

⚠ WarningAlways select the vehicle model first: if you do not do it at the start, many later functions will ask for it anyway and the procedure stops halfway.
Procedure
Plug the AVDI interface into the vehicle's OBDII socket and into the PC (Windows 7 or later). For best results you need the latest software version installed, active AMS and a stable internet connection.
Turn the ignition ON and start "Abrites Diagnostics for Volvo" from the Volvo icon in the Abrites Quick Start menu.
On the first screen select the vehicle you are working on before doing anything else: the module list changes according to the vehicle specification.
Press the unit scan ("Scan for Units") to list all the ECUs present in the car together with their DTCs.
To enter a single ECU, double-click the entry in the list or select it and press the "Open" button: the software attempts to connect to the module.
Go through the fault codes read: you can read and clear all DTCs in one go with "Clear DTCs" from the first screen, or clear them individually after entering the module concerned.
Save the scan report to file for the job documentation or to attach to the work order.
From the options sub-menu on the first screen you can set the program preferences and the interface language.
