Live Data monitoring (real values) on Volvo modules

The "Live Data" function shows the values measured by Volvo ECUs in real time. Use it to check sensors, actuators and operating conditions while diagnosing an intermittent fault or after a repair.

Procedure

1. Plug the AVDI into the OBDII socket, turn the ignition ON and start Abrites Diagnostics for Volvo.
2. If you have not done so already, select the vehicle model on the first screen.
3. There are two ways to get to the live values: enter an ECU from the diagnostic menu ("Open") and use the value monitoring, or open "Live Data" from the special functions menu.
4. Opening "Live Data" presents the list of modules available on the vehicle: double-click the module you want.
5. In the module's parameter list tick the individual values you want to watch: they are updated in real time.
6. Move the vehicle or the actuator into the conditions where the fault shows up and compare the values read against the expected ones.
7. If you also need to drive the actuators, use the "Service Functions" function, which includes real-time actuator testing.
