⚠ WarningDuring regeneration the engine has to be running and the exhaust gases reach very high temperatures: work in a well-ventilated area, with the exhaust ducted out of the workshop, and chock all the vehicle's wheels.
Procedure
Move the vehicle to a properly ventilated area, chock all the wheels and duct the exhaust gases outside.
Plug the AVDI into the OBDII socket and turn the ignition ON.
Start Abrites Diagnostics for Volvo, select the vehicle and open the special functions menu.
Select the "DPF" function with a double-click.
Press the "Execute" button: the software will tell you the engine has to be started.
Start the engine as prompted and let the procedure run without interruption.
Follow the regeneration on screen using the parameters shown by the software until it completes.
Once regeneration is finished let the system cool down, run a DTC scan and clear the DPF-related codes, then confirm on the road that the light does not come back on.
