Reading real-time parameters (Live Data) from Subaru control units

Subaru Interface New Diagnostics Basic ⏱ 10-30 min 6 steps

Used to read and analyse sensor values in real time from any module available on the vehicle, handy for chasing intermittent faults or checking a repair without stripping anything down.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket, turn the ignition ON and start "Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru".
  2. Scan the vehicle first, so you have the list of the electronic modules fitted.
  3. Select from the list the electronic unit whose values you want to see (engine, BCM, smart system, etc.).
  4. Press the "Live data" button: the software opens the real-time value window for the chosen module.
  5. Analyse the sensor values available in that module while you carry out the test (ignition ON, engine running, working the suspect component).
  6. To check another module, go back to the control unit list, select it and press "Live data" again.
