All Keys Lost on Subaru with BCM using the ZN066 adapter

Subaru Interface New Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 45-90 min 10 steps

The alternative to the TA41 for Subaru vehicles with a mechanical key and BCM with no working keys: the ZN066 plugs straight into the AVDI, emulates the key to get registration started and stays reusable on other vehicles.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • ZN066
⚠ WarningFor key registration with the ZN066 you must switch the ignition ON using only a blade with no transponder, together with the ZN066: use just the shank, or remove the transponder from the complete key, otherwise the procedure fails. The ZN066 does not stay programmed to the vehicle, so you need a virgin Subaru key, a TA41 or any DST-AES transponder to program to the car.

Procedure

  1. Check the vehicle has a mechanical key and a BCM unit and get the key to be programmed (virgin Subaru key, TA41 or DST-AES transponder).
  2. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and plug the ZN066 into the AVDI DB15 slot: the PROTAG is not needed for this procedure.
  3. Start "Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru", open the "Immobilizer" special function and select "All Keys Lost".
  4. Choose the ZN066 option and confirm with "yes" once the adapter is connected.
  5. Wait while the software reads all the required information and prepares both the ZN066 emulator and the vehicle for key programming.
  6. When the software prompts, switch the ignition ON with the ZN066 connected, using only a blade with no transponder (or a key you have removed the transponder from).
  7. Move on to the "Key Registration" procedure and program the final key (virgin key, TA41 or DST-AES transponder) following the on-screen messages.
  8. Program any additional keys and check the key count.
  9. Run the ECM registration if it does not start automatically, then try starting the engine with each key.
  10. Unplug the ZN066: it is reusable and will serve on plenty of other vehicles.
