Reading and coding injector codes on Subaru diesels

Subaru Interface New Service Medium ⏱ 20-40 min 7 steps

Needed when Subaru diesel injectors are replaced: the injector codes are read and written into the engine control unit, which is a must for the vehicle to run properly again.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket, start "Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru" and scan the vehicle.
  2. Go into the engine control unit menu (Engine control unit).
  3. Select "INJECTORS" and read the injector codes currently stored.
  4. Save the codes you have read as a reference before touching the injectors.
  5. Replace the injectors and note the codes printed on the new components.
  6. Write the new injector codes from the same "INJECTORS" menu and confirm the write.
  7. Check the coded values match those of the new injectors, then start the vehicle and confirm there are no engine DTCs.
