Forced DPF regeneration on Subaru diesels over OBDII

Subaru Interface New Service Medium ⏱ 10-20 min 5 steps

Many Subaru diesels give no access to forced regeneration after a DPF clean: with Abrites diagnostics you launch it over OBDII with a single click, at OEM level.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI

Procedure

  1. First carry out the DPF cleaning/servicing as specified for the vehicle.
  2. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket, start "Abrites Diagnostics for Subaru" and scan the vehicle.
  3. Go into the service functions and select the DPF regeneration ("DPF regeneration").
  4. Start the procedure with one click and let it complete: the process takes between 10 and 20 minutes depending on DPF temperature and the amount of soot left.
  5. When finished, read and clear any DTCs related to the particulate filter and use live data to confirm the DPF parameters have come back into range.
