Vehicle Inspection Kit: MODI and ProTag V2 technical specifications, requirements and usage limits

Reference sheet with the technical data of the two Vehicle Inspection Kit devices, the software requirements, the environmental limits and the warranty terms. Worth checking before buying accessories, before working on 24V vehicles and before opening a warranty claim.

Procedure

1. MODI - Product name: MODI, model ESP32 v04, made in Bulgaria by Abrites Ltd. (Sofia). Wireless module ESP32-WROOM-1-S3, FCC ID 2AC7Z-ESPS3WROOM1.
2. MODI - Operating voltage 11-25V DC (SELV source, nominal 12/24V DC), protection rating IP44, operating temperature from -10 deg C to +30 deg C, weight 120g, dimensions 40x75x20mm.
3. ProTag V2 - Product name PROTAG, model ZN003 - PROTAG V2, made in Bulgaria by Abrites Ltd. Power supply 5V DC, USB-C IN 5 VDC / 300mA, rechargeable 1100 mAh Li-ion battery.
4. ProTag V2 - Protection rating IP20, operating temperature from 0 deg C to +30 deg C, weight 190g, dimensions 135x82x33mm.
5. Requirements for both apps: iOS 15.6 or higher, or Android 5.0 or higher, with a stable internet connection.
6. Compatibility: the full list of vehicles and supported functions for the kit is at abrites.com/products/vehicle-inspection-kit; for the MODI the list of makes is at modiobd.com/brands.
7. Environmental conditions: keep the devices in clean environments, do not expose them to rain or moisture, do not use them with wet hands, do not overheat them, do not place them on hot objects, do not apply excessive pressure and do not bend or crush them under heavy objects.
8. The devices are electronic products and must not be disposed of with household waste: follow local electronic waste regulations. The MODI complies with directives 2014/53/EU (RED), 2011/65/EU (RoHS) and 2012/19/EU (WEEE).
9. Warranty: 24 months against manufacturing defects, with repair or replacement of the device. It does not apply to products bought from unauthorised resellers, to failure to follow the operating instructions or to damage from abuse, accident or modification.
10. Returns: 14-day policy, product returned in its original packaging, complete with all components and with no signs of use. Online subscriptions managed by Apple and Google are non-refundable.
11. For warranty claims email support@abrites.com: safe packaging, shipping costs, customs duties, VAT and charges are at the user's expense, and products whose defect cannot be reproduced or whose purchase cannot be verified are rejected.
