Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • ZN059
  • ZN060
  • ZN061
  • ZN063
⚠ WarningThe ZN059 (VDO) and ZN060 (Micronas) mini DB adapters must be powered by the ZN063 - 12V/1A DC power adapter: use the specified one, not a generic power supply.

Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument cluster and identify the type: VDO or Micronas, and for Micronas tell the new connector apart from the old one.
  2. For a VDO cluster fit the ZN059 - VAG VDO cluster adapter.
  3. For a Micronas cluster with the new-style connector fit the ZN060 - VAG Micronas (new style connector) cluster adapter.
  4. For a Micronas cluster with the old connector fit the ZN061 - old-style Micronas cluster adapter.
  5. Power the ZN059 and ZN060 with the ZN063 - 12V/1A DC power adapter.
  6. Connect the adapter to the AVDI, start the Abrites software for VAG and open the instrument cluster section.
  7. Read the cluster data first and keep a copy of it, then go ahead with the operation you need.
