Using the AVDI with Jaguar / Land Rover SDD (Symptom Driven Diagnostics)

Strumenti Interface Classic Diagnostics Medium ⏱ 15-20 min 7 steps

The JLR SDD system recognises the AVDI as a J2534 VCI once the passthru driver is installed. It is what you need for diagnostics and programming on Jaguar and Land Rover without the original VCI.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • cavo USB
⚠ WarningAfter installing the passthru driver you must restart the system, otherwise SDD will not recognise the interface.

Procedure

  1. Install the Abrites passthru driver on the same computer (or virtual machine) where the SDD system is installed.
  2. Make sure the AVDI is connected to the same computer or the same virtual machine.
  3. Restart the system after installing the passthru software.
  4. Start the SDD software with right-click on the .exe -> "Run as administrator".
  5. At the bottom right of the SDD application check that "VCI- 2534" shows as connected.
  6. At the top right check the AVDI connection status with SDD.
  7. When both indications are active you can start working on the car with the software.
