MODI Virtual Garage: vehicle archive, notes, service reminders, backup and data transfer

Strumenti Interface Classic Configuration / MMI Basic ⏱ 10-20 min 8 steps

The Virtual Garage is the part of the app where you keep vehicles along with their health reports, digital notes and service interval reminders. You can open it at any time, even without MODI connected.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • MODI
  • MODI Mobile Diagnostics App
⚠ WarningVirtual Garage vehicles are stored locally on the phone: if you change phone, run the backup first, otherwise you lose the whole history of reports and notes.

Procedure

  1. Open the MODI app and press the "Garage" button: MODI does not need to be connected or powered.
  2. Add a vehicle manually, or open it straight from the dashboard after a scan using the add-to-garage option.
  3. If you want automatic archiving, tick the box to automatically add to the Virtual Garage any vehicle you generate a health report for.
  4. Manage the vehicle's health reports: every report generated with the vehicle already in the garage is saved under its record.
  5. Create digital notes and reminders on the vehicle, for example for important service intervals or deadlines to flag to the customer.
  6. Personalise the record with a photo of the vehicle, or leave the default image.
  7. Before changing phone, back the garage up and then restore it on the new device.
  8. If the vehicle is sold, the previous owner can transfer all the vehicle data from their MODI app to the new owner's using the same backup/restore function.
