CB403 DS-BOX Extended Cable Set: HD15 pinout and bench connection of ECUs, TCUs and truck modules

The CB403 is the extended cable set for the ZN051 Distribution Box: it lets you connect directly, on the bench, to engine ECUs, gearboxes and other modules on cars, trucks, buses and heavy vehicles for reading, writing, virginizing, personalizing and updating.

Procedure

1. Take the 70 cm main cable: one end has the HD15 connector (all pins wired), the other has round eyelet terminals the probe leads plug into.
2. Connect the HD15 to the ZN051 and follow this pinout, identified by wire color: 1 pink "IGN"; 2 yellow and yellow/white "B+" (on both wires); 3 red/blue "K-LINE 1"; 4 purple "BOOT 2"; 5 white "BOOT 1"; 6 green "T2"; 7 brown "T1"; 8 red "CAN H".
3. Carry on with the second half of the pinout: 9 green/white "T3"; 10 green/brown "T4"; 11 black "GND"; 12 grey "GND"; 13 yellow/brown "B+ PERMANENT"; 14 blue "CAN L"; 15 grey/pink "K-LINE 7".
4. If you need to split one signal to several points use the 1 male to 3 female splitter adapters with round terminals (4 pieces in the set).
5. Pick the probe leads to suit the module: they all have a round male terminal that plugs into the main cable. Grey 20 cm leads: 4 crocodile clips, 2 small terminals, 2 medium, 2 with no terminal. Red, blue, brown and green 20 cm leads: 1 small and 1 medium terminal each. Orange 20 cm lead: 2 small terminals and 1 medium.
6. For the heavier ground and power points use the black and yellow 20 cm leads, which have 1 small, 2 medium and 1 large terminal each.
7. For boot points further away use the two 30 cm long leads with no terminal: the grey one and the purple one.
8. Once the connections are checked, power up the bench and start the function you need from the Abrites software (read, write, virginize, personalize or update the module).
