The "Programming" function: reading and writing Flash and ConfData on ABS, cluster, Hands Free and UCH, and ABS swap with a donor

Renault/Dacia Interface New Flashing / Programming Advanced ⏱ 30-60 min 8 steps

The "Programming" special function reads and writes the Flash and/or ConfData of various modules (ABS, instrument cluster, Hands Free, UCH). Use it to recover a unit after a problem and for straight module swaps, transferring EEPROM and Flash from the original unit to the replacement.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • cavo OBDII CB101 o CB106
⚠ WarningEvery time the software reads a Flash (the UCH's, for example) it automatically saves a copy into your interface's log file folder: do not delete those files, they are the only way to recover the unit if reprogramming fails.

Procedure

  1. Plug the AVDI into the OBDII and open the Renault/Dacia Online software with the vehicle identified.
  2. Open the "Programming" special function and select the module to work on: ABS, Instrument panel, Hands Free unit or UCH.
  3. Read the original module first: for the instrument cluster you read both the Flash and the ConfData, for other modules only the ConfData (EEPROM), depending on what the software offers.
  4. Check that the file read has been saved in the interface's log file folder and put it aside: that is your recovery backup.
  5. For a straight module swap, write the data read from the original into the new unit (EEPROM, and for the instrument cluster the FLASH as well), using the same "Programming" function.
  6. ABS SWAP: select the ABS type, read the "Conf Data" (EEPROM), save it to file and write it into the donor ABS.
  7. If a reprogramming attempt fails, do not push on: go back into the "Programming" menu and recover the unit by loading the Flash copy saved in the log folder.
  8. When the job is done clear the DTCs and check communication with all modules with a full scan.
