Renault Clio IV: programming ABRITES key cards with PROTAG

Cars such as the Clio IV can use key cards made by Abrites, which come ready to use and are programmed with the PROTAG programmer. Use this when you need a new card without having to source a virgin original.

Procedure

1. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle and make sure the PC has a live internet connection.
2. Launch the software: the car is detected automatically. The software asks you to confirm whether the vehicle was detected correctly: confirm.
3. Press "Start": the software asks for the number of keys to program. In the manual's example 1 key card is programmed.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions: the software goes on to read the Configuration data and the PIN.
5. At this point the software asks whether you are using an "Abrites key": confirm.
6. A reminder to check the internet connection appears: make sure it is live and carry on.
7. Connect the PROTAG programmer to the AVDI when prompted.
8. Lay the Abrites card on the PROTAG in the correct position shown in the manual's images and press "OK": the card is prepared.
9. When prompted, insert the card into the ignition barrel and press "OK".
10. The software confirms the operation with "Done" at the bottom left. Check unlocking and cranking with the new card.
