Renault/Dacia mileage correction via OBDII: instrument cluster and ABS with the "Mileage" function

Renault/Dacia Interface New Odometer Medium ⏱ 20-40 min 9 steps

The basic mileage calibration function on Renault/Dacia: from the "Mileage" special function you read the value held in the instrument cluster and in the ABS module and update it in either one or, more usefully, in both at once. Used after a cluster or ABS/ESC replacement.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • cavo OBDII CB101 o CB106

Procedure

  1. Plug the AVDI into the OBDII port and open the Renault/Dacia Online software through to vehicle identification.
  2. Open the "Mileage" special function from the left-hand menu.
  3. Press "Read": the software reads the mileage stored in the Instrument Cluster and in the ABS module and shows both on screen.
  4. Compare the two values read and note the correct reference figure before changing anything.
  5. Click on the "New Mileage" section: the field to type the new value opens at the top right.
  6. Type the new mileage and press "Enter" to confirm it in the field.
  7. Press "update", choosing whether to update just one unit or both together ("Update IC + ABS"), which is the way to go when you need cluster and ABS in line.
  8. Wait for the procedure to finish without unplugging the OBDII and without switching the ignition off.
  9. Cycle the ignition off and on, then re-read with "Read" to check the value is the same in both modules.
