Renault Clio IV / Captur: reading the handsfree module with ABPROG and DB25

The connection procedure for reading the handsfree module on Clio IV and Captur. Use it when the data needed for key work has to be taken straight from the module and is not available through diagnostics.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • ABPROG
  • cavo DB25 Male
⚠ WarningThe DB25 Male connector must be connected to the ABPROG, and the ABPROG must be connected to the AVDI. Only with this chain of connections can the handsfree module be read.

Procedure

  1. Remove the handsfree module from the car and take it to the bench.
  2. Connect the DB25 Male to the ABPROG as per the manual's diagram.
  3. Connect the ABPROG to the AVDI and the AVDI to the PC.
  4. Wire the handsfree module to the DB25 connector following the connections shown in the diagram.
  5. Launch the Renault/Dacia software and start the module read.
  6. Save the content you read to file before doing anything else.
  7. Refit the module to the car and check that the key/handsfree system works.
