When the JTEKT electric power steering module (PAS/EPS) is stuck in Fail-Safe Mode, the UCH logs the "Dongle" fault and the engine will not start. The "JTEKT (EPS) Recovery" special function rewrites the default configuration into the module and takes it out of Fail-Safe, via OBDII.
⚠ WarningThe function rewrites the PAS module configuration: make sure the module is identified correctly (part number, VIN, software version on screen) before pressing "JTEKT Fix". Keep a stable power supply throughout the write.
Procedure
Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and to the PC, start Abrites Diagnostics for Renault/Dacia Online and choose the model (e.g. Duster PH3).
Let the software scan the modules.
Go into the PAS (power steering) module: the screen shows the module's part number, supplier, VIN, hardware and software version.
Press "JTEKT Fix" in the left-hand menu.
The software identifies the module and writes the default configuration for the JTEKT PAS/EPS; wait for it to complete.
Switch the ignition OFF and back ON: the module comes out of Fail-Safe Mode and the "Dongle" fault in the UCH disappears. Try starting the engine and clear any remaining DTC.
