Mileage correction on Continental BSI 2015+ using the "CAN" Calibration function

PSA Interface Classic Odometer Advanced ⏱ 30-60 min 9 steps

On the Continental BSI units of PSA vehicles from 2015 onwards, mileage is corrected using the "CAN" calibration special function. The software may have to reflash the BSI before it will allow the change, which it does by itself once the operator confirms.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningTo change the mileage on these units the BSI may first have to be reflashed: the reflash is carried out automatically by the software after a confirmation prompt, so never disconnect power or the interface during the process. After the change the keys have to be re-learned to the vehicle, otherwise they may not work as before.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBD-II socket and hook up an external power supply: the procedure includes a flash write and must not be interrupted.
  2. Open the Calibration special function and choose the "CAN" calibration: that is the one the manual specifies for mileage changes on 2015+ BSI units.
  3. Click "Connect" and read the current mileage stored in the unit.
  4. Enter the new mileage value and confirm the prompt that appears on screen.
  5. If the software reports that the unit has to be reflashed, confirm: the reflash is automatic and is needed to enable the change.
  6. The software re-reads the configuration after writing, then writes the new flash that allows calibration.
  7. Once the operation is complete the software confirms that the mileage has been set.
  8. Re-learn the keys to the vehicle after the change: without this step the keys may not work as they did before.
  9. Verify the value by reading it back with "Connect" and check that the cluster shows the correct mileage.
