Cayenne K-Line instrument cluster: ConfData, ECU reset, service and mileage reading

Special functions for the Cayenne instrument cluster that communicates over K-Line: reading and writing the configuration data, diagnostic reset of the unit, resetting the service display or the maintenance interval, and reading the mileage in km.

⚠ WarningBefore pressing "Write ConfData" always save the original data with "Save to file...": writing puts the contents of the hex window back into the cluster. If K-Line communication doesn't start, check the baud rate order in the options (try 9600 first) and which K-Line pins are enabled.

Procedure

  1. Open the special functions list and select "Instrument Cluster K-Line".
  2. In the model list select "Cayenne".
  3. Press "Read" in the ConfData section: the software connects to the instrument cluster and reads the configuration data, which is shown in the hex window.
  4. Press "Save to file..." to save the data you read to a file as a backup.
  5. To write, load the data into the hex window and use the "Write ConfData" function: the contents of the hex window are written into the instrument cluster.
  6. Press "Reset ECU" if the unit needs a diagnostic reset: the software connects to the cluster and carries out the reset.
  7. Press "Service" to work on the servicing: you can choose "Service interval display" or "Maintenance interval".
  8. With "Reset service interval display" the software connects to the cluster and resets the service interval display directly.
  9. With "Maintenance interval" the software connects to the cluster and, once you have specified engine type, year of production, mileage unit of measurement and country, carries out the maintenance interval reset.
  10. In the "Mileage" section press "Read": the software connects to the cluster and reads the current mileage value in km.
