Reading and erasing the instrument cluster event memory (Instrument Cluster CAN)

This reads the event memory recorded in the instrument cluster on the 911 997, Boxster 987 and Cayman and, if needed, erases it.

Procedure

1. Open the special functions list and select "Instrument Cluster CAN".
2. In the "Select vehicle model" list pick the model (911 997, Boxster 987 or Cayman).
3. To just view them, select the "Events" function and press "Open": the software opens the diagnostic session with the cluster, reads the event memory and displays it.
4. If you also want to be able to erase it, select the "Erase event memory" function instead and press "Open": alongside the event list you also get the "Erase" button.
5. Go through the listed events before erasing: they are the record of what has happened to the vehicle.
6. Press "Erase" to erase the event memory.
7. Read the memory back to confirm it is empty.
