Actuator tests ("Actuator tests") on Porsche control units

Porsche Interface Classic Diagnostics Basic ⏱ 5-15 min 7 steps

This lets you drive and test certain functions of the connected control unit, for example the loudspeaker test from a Boxster 987 instrument cluster.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI

Procedure

  1. Connect to the control unit you want from the main screen (double-click the entry or press "Open").
  2. In the diagnostic requests window press "Actuator tests": a new window opens with the list of test categories that can be run on that unit.
  3. Select the test to run (in the Boxster 987 instrument cluster example: "Loudspeaker test") and press "Next".
  4. In the test window press "Execute" to start the test.
  5. Check on the vehicle that the commanded component is working.
  6. Press "Stop" to end the test, then close the window.
  7. When you're done, read the DTCs and clear them with "Clear DTCs" if needed: actuator tests can leave faults in memory.
