Key Duplicator on JLR 2018+ with PROTAG and TA54/TA56/TA66/TA67 keys

The "Key Duplicator" function programs keys on Jaguar/Land Rover vehicles from 2018 onwards. Use it both to add a spare key starting from the existing keys and for all keys lost (AKL) jobs, starting from a fresh Abrites key.

Procedure

1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and the PROTAG programmer to the PC; open the JLR application and establish communication with the vehicle.
2. If the vehicle is ARMED, connect to the internal CAN-H and CAN-L with the CB012 cable set or a distribution box: the internal CAN wires are found under the front seats or inside all 4 doors. CAN-H = yellow/red, CAN-L = yellow/brown (in some cases yellow/purple). The software prompts you when the direct connection is required. Alternatively, switch the alarm off with the "Alarm OFF" special function.
3. Open the "Key Duplicator" function.
4. Press "OK": the software connects to the vehicle and reads the required data.
5. Connect the PROTAG and have a fresh Abrites TA54/TA56/TA66/TA67 key ready.
6. Place all the vehicle's existing keys on the PROTAG one at a time (if available) BEFORE programming the new keys. In an all keys lost case, place a fresh Abrites key instead. Keys must sit on top of the PROTAG with the buttons facing up.
7. Read the software message: if you have working keys it tells you whether they can be kept or not.
8. When prompted by the software, place the new TA54/TA56/TA66/TA67 key on the PROTAG and let the write complete.
9. Once done, the software asks you to take the key off the PROTAG: remove it and press "Stop" to close the procedure.
10. Test the new key: lock and unlock the doors with the remote and start the engine. If the car has UWB and only the remote works, fit the EM015 emulator following the dedicated procedure.
