Immo Advanced JLR: writing transponder ID and secret key into the BCM for emergency start

JLR Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 30-60 min 7 steps

The "Immo Advanced" special function writes the transponder ID and the secret key ID into the vehicle's BCM. It is used to make the engine startable with a key held against the emergency slot when the keyless route is not an option.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningWith this procedure keyless start will NOT be possible: the engine only starts with the key held on the emergency slot. Writing into the KVM (keyless start module) is not possible, and if the KVM is locked you cannot write over OBD either.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and to the PC, open the JLR application and establish diagnostic communication with the car.
  2. Open the "Immo Advanced" special function.
  3. On the first screen, select the module you want to work on.
  4. Move to the keys screen ("Keys") and set the transponder ID of the key to be enabled.
  5. Move to the "SK" screen and enter the secret key ID.
  6. Move to the ignition screen ("Ignition") and complete writing the data into the BCM.
  7. Test the start: hold the key on the emergency slot and start the engine. Remind the customer that keyless start is no longer available with that key.
