Resetting and reusing used Abrites TA54/TA56/TA66/TA67 keys for JLR (Abrites Key Reset)

This function clears an Abrites JLR key that has already been programmed and therefore locked to a vehicle, so you can reuse it on another job.

⚠ WarningThe key must be reset with the SAME AVDI and the SAME PC used for the original key learning procedure. With any other AVDI/PC combination the reset is not possible.

Procedure

  1. Check the key is a TA54, TA56, TA66 or TA67: these are the only ones the reset supports.
  2. Connect the same AVDI to the PC and use the same laptop the key was programmed with; also connect the PROTAG programmer, which is mandatory for this procedure.
  3. In the special functions menu select "Abrites Key Reset": an information screen with the prerequisites appears.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the key reset.
  5. If you place a key that was not programmed with that AVDI/laptop, or a key that was never programmed, the software tells you: in that case the reset cannot be carried out.
  6. Once the reset succeeds the key is free again and can be reprogrammed to another vehicle.
