Key programming on JLR vehicles built from 2018 to 2026, starting from a bench read of the BCM 95128 EEPROM. This is the route to take when the alarm is armed, because it works regardless, and it also covers all keys lost (AKL) cases.

⚠ WarningIf the car is fitted with a UWB module you must also install the EM015 emulator, otherwise the programmed key will only work as a remote. If the PROTAG does not detect the key, replace the key battery before trying again.
Procedure
Remove the BCM from the vehicle and read the 95128 EEPROM following the wiring diagram in the manual (ch. 4.3.1, BCM EEPROM Wiring); save the dump to the PC.
Refit the BCM to the vehicle: from here on you work over OBDII with the AVDI connected and the PROTAG connected to the PC.
In the key learning special function select "Load BCM ConfData dump" and load the 95128 EEPROM dump you have just read.
Connect the PROTAG and place all available working keys on it, one at a time. If you have no working keys, place a fresh Abrites key and press "Use position" on the key position you want to program it into.
With the key close to the PROTAG, press the remote buttons several times.
Place the new key on the PROTAG: the software programs it.
After programming, sync the remote by pressing the "Synch Remote" button for the corresponding key position; hold the key near the PROTAG and press the remote button several times.
Check on the vehicle: lock/unlock with the remote and engine start. If the car has UWB, fit the EM015 emulator using the dedicated procedure.
