Resetting the FRM short circuit counter (Reset FRM Short Circuit Counter)

BMW Interface New Special Functions Basic ⏱ 10-20 min 5 steps

Clears the FRM short circuit counter. The procedure checks all modules for short circuit faults and erases those that are no longer present, leaving only the ones that genuinely need repairing.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and start the BMW/Mini software.
  2. Open the "Guided functions" menu.
  3. Press the "Reset FRM short circuit counter" button.
  4. Let the procedure check all modules for short circuit faults.
  5. Once erased, only the real faults remain listed: go through the wiring and repair them.
