BCM2 unlock with the ZN080 set (solder-free)

VAG Interface New Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ ~5 min (read) + key programming 8 steps

Reads the Component Security (CS) bytes from locked 2013–2018 BCM2 units (A4/A5/Q5 and A6/A7/A8/Touareg platforms) for key programming. With the ZN080 set no soldering is required: Type A adapters (8K – A4/A5/Q5), Type B (4H sw >800), Type C (4H sw <800).

Required licences

  • VN020 (o inclusa in VN003)

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • Set ZN080 con ABPROG
  • Alimentatore 12V (es. ZN063)
  • PROTAG (per le chiavi)
⚠ WarningThe BCM2 must be refitted to the vehicle for the key learning stage. Always save the data to file once it is unlocked.

Procedure

  1. Identify the BCM2 type and fit the correct ZN080 adapter (A/B/C), screwing it down on the diagonal corners of the PCB.
  2. Connect ABPROG to the AVDI, the adapter to the BCM2, and supply 12V to the dedicated power connector.
  3. Open the software, go to "Special Functions" and select "Unlock BCM2".
  4. Click "Read Data".
  5. Confirm with "OK" when the software asks whether ABPROG is connected.
  6. Wait around 5 minutes: the software unlocks the BCM2. Save the data to file.
  7. To program a key: connect the PROTAG and click "OK". The procedure is guided from there.
  8. AKL note (all keys lost): on A4/A5/Q5 use "Make a dealer key" then "Learn key(s)". On A6/A7/A8/Touareg it is only possible if you can read the CS from the ECU/TCU.
