Basic settings return a module to the factory configuration intended for that vehicle. Use them to set up a new module or recalibrate a component (e.g. after cleaning a throttle body, DSG clutch adaptation, steering angle sensor reset).
⚠ Warning Before writing, consider saving a backup of the module with "Save to file": that is your only way back.
Procedure
From the diagnostics menu, enter the module you want to work on. Press the "Basic settings" button: all basic settings available for that module are listed. Select the routine (e.g. steering angle sensor reset) and run it following the on-screen prompts. Check the result and confirm the fault/condition you were correcting has cleared.
