All keys lost procedure on the MQB platform with a VDO Immo 5C cluster and Hitag PRO keys. You collect the immobilizer data from the ECU and TCU, prepare the cluster on the bench with the ZN085, remove the ELV steering lock if fitted, and finally prepare and program the keys via OBDII.

⚠ WarningFollow the exact order of the steps. If the vehicle has a protected Gateway (SFD) the procedure does NOT go through the OBD socket: with a first-generation SFD connect the CB012 directly to the Comfort CAN lines behind the Gateway (CAN-H orange/green, CAN-L orange/brown); alternatively unlock the SFD with a third-party solution and complete the procedure via OBD within 90 minutes of the unlock.
Procedure
Connect the AVDI to the vehicle OBDII socket and switch on the hazard lights.
Open VAG Online and select Key Learning > "IMMO5C MQB" > "All Keys Lost".
ECU: in the "ECU CS" screen read the engine ECU CS with "Read CS" (Simos 1x.xx or Delphi DCM 6.2). If the ECU is Bosch, run "IMMO off" by modifying the firmware from a dump. If you already know the CS, enter it by hand with "Enter CS" (16 bytes). Close with "Done".
TCU: in the "TCU CS" screen read the TCU CS (DQ200/250/500/381) over direct CAN with "Read CS", or extract it from a dump with "Load from file" or type it in with "Enter CS". Close with "Done".
Cluster: remove the VDO cluster and connect the CB501 cable per the diagram shown in the ZN085 software. Select the correct cluster, double-check the diagram and read the data: on a successful read the software tells you the immo data has been stored in the crypto core.
Press "Write MCU" and confirm with "Yes", choosing the Key learning option. When the write finishes, refit the capacitors and desolder the CB501.
If the vehicle has an electronic steering lock (ELV), remove it now: in the status screen the ELV entry must read "ELV module is removed from the vehicle!" (update with "Refresh").
Check in the status screen that Dashboard, ECU, TCU and ELV all show "Status: Completed", then press "Continue".
Key Learning via OBDII: open the bonnet, check the PROTAG is still connected to the PC, enter how many new keys you want to program and insert them one at a time in the PROTAG for the "dealer" preparation.
Select the total number of keys to program, press Next and switch the ignition ON with each key within 2 minutes (keyless vehicle: hold the key against the emergency antenna). At the end all the keys from the session are stored in the immobilizer.
If the keys start the engine from the emergency slot but remote and keyless do not work: disconnect the battery for one minute and repeat only the Key Learning via OBDII, choosing the option to relearn the existing keys, without re-preparing the new ones.
