Reading and erasing the alarm activation state and events memory - Boxster 986, 911 996, Carrera GT

Four alarm module functions for Boxster 986, 911 996 and Carrera GT: read the activation state memory, erase it, read the events memory and erase it. Handy for working out why the alarm was triggered or for clearing the history before handover.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and start "Abrites Diagnostics for Porsche".
  2. Select the model "Boxster 986, 911 996, Carrera GT".
  3. To see the alarm activation state open "Activation state memory": the function reads and displays the alarm module's activation state memory.
  4. To clear it open "Erase activation state memory": the function reads the activation state memory and offers to erase it; confirm to delete it.
  5. To see the event history open "Events": the function reads the alarm module's events memory.
  6. To clear the history open "Erase Events memory": it reads the events memory and gives you the option to erase it; confirm to delete it.
  7. Re-read the memories after erasing to confirm they are empty.
