Adaptations: coding options and modules through adaptation channels

The "Adaptations" function gives access to the adaptation channels of Porsche control units and works as a coding helper: it is used to enable or change module options and configurations. The software includes a very extensive coding option database.

Procedure

1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and start "Abrites Diagnostics for Porsche Online" from Quick Start.
2. In the diagnostic menu select the control unit you want to work on.
3. Open "Adaptations": the software shows the list of adaptation channels available for that control unit, taken from the coding option database.
4. Pick the option or channel you want to change from the list and open it: the detail menu opens showing the current value.
5. Press "Read" to read the value currently set in the channel. Write down the original value before touching it - you will need it to go back.
6. Set the new option value according to the configuration you want.
7. Press "Write" to write the new value into the control unit.
8. Read the channel again with "Read" to confirm the written value is the one you wanted, then check on the car that the function behaves as expected.
9. If the control unit refuses the write, run "Security Access" on that module first and repeat the write.
