Enable/Disable UWB: switching UWB on or off in the gateway on Jaguar/Land Rover with an unlocked RFA/KVM

JLR Interface New Special Functions Basic ⏱ 5 min 5 steps

The "Enable/Disable UWB" special function switches UWB (Ultra Wide Band, the technology the vehicle uses to measure the distance to the keyless key) on or off on Jaguar/Land Rover vehicles fitted with an unlocked RFA/KVM module. Useful after an RFA/KVM replacement or when the programmed key is not recognised in proximity.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningOnly works with an unlocked RFA/KVM module. Before doing anything, check the RFA status with "Immo Info" and whether the vehicle is actually fitted with UWB.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket, start Abrites diagnostics for Jaguar/Land Rover Online and identify the vehicle with "Auto-detect".
  2. Go into "Special Functions" and select "Enable/Disable UWB".
  3. In the "Enable / Disable UWB in the gateway" screen read the current status under "Current state" (Enabled or Disabled).
  4. Press "ENABLE" to switch UWB on or "DISABLE" to switch it off and wait for the software to confirm.
  5. Check the keyless key works (proximity unlock and starting) and clear any DTC generated.
