Alarm OFF on JLR 2014-2024: switching the alarm off and unlocking the BCM to program keys

JLR Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 30-60 min 7 steps

The "Alarm OFF" function is for all keys lost cases on 2014-2024 vehicles with a locked BCM, where programming a new key would otherwise be impossible. It switches the vehicle alarm off and unlocks the BCM, opening the way to key programming.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • needle clips
  • alimentatore per batteria
⚠ WarningA power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery throughout the procedure. Watch the wire colours: on some models the CAN-BUS does not use the standard colours and a reversed connection stops the procedure.

Procedure

  1. Connect a power supply to the vehicle battery: it is mandatory for the whole procedure.
  2. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle OBDII socket and to the PC.
  3. Locate the RFA CAN-BUS wires under the driver's seat and tap them with the needle clips. Example on a 2021 Defender: CAN-H (red wire from the device) to the yellow/orange wire, CAN-L (blue wire from the device) to the yellow/purple wire.
  4. If the colours do not match, bear in mind that on some models the CAN-BUS has different colours: CAN-H green and CAN-L brown.
  5. Open the JLR application, go into the "Read Vehicle Info" special function and from there select "Alarm OFF".
  6. Run the procedure: when it finishes the vehicle alarm is off and the BCM unlocked.
  7. Go ahead and program the new keys using the key learning function suited to the vehicle's year and platform.
