From software version 34.3 onwards you can reset keys already programmed to Hyundai/KIA vehicles, so they can be reprogrammed and reused on another vehicle. A guided, safe procedure, available to all users with an HK011 licence and active AMS.
Required licences
HK011
Hardware / cables
AVDI
ProTag ZN002 o ZN003
⚠ WarningFor HITAG 3 and HITAG AES transponders the procedure can take up to 70 minutes: do not interrupt the job. You need the HK011 PIN and Key Manager licence with active AMS and a ProTag ZN002 or ZN003 programmer. It is recommended to carry out the procedure in the car, as suggested on the software's main screen.
Procedure
Check that the key transponder is among the supported ones: HITAG 3, HITAG AES, DST AES, DST 80. Indicative times are up to 70 minutes for HITAG 3 and HITAG AES, around one minute for DST AES and DST 80.
Check that you have software version 34.3 or later, the HK011 PIN and Key Manager licence with active AMS and a ProTag ZN002 or ZN003.
Carry out the procedure in the car, as suggested on the software's main screen: connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and complete the vehicle selection.
From the main screen, in the diagnostic menu, select "Used Key Functions".
Select "Reset Used Key".
Follow the on-screen instructions: the software is guided and shows step by step what to do.
Insert the key into the ProTag programmer only when the software asks for it.
Wait for completion: up to 70 minutes on HITAG 3 and HITAG AES, around one minute on DST AES and DST 80.
Once the reset is done the key is free: you can reprogramme it and use it on another vehicle with the key learning function.
