Hyundai/Kia Interface Classic Flashing / Programming Advanced ⏱ varies 7 steps

The "ECU Flasher" function lets you read and update the Flash and Configuration Data of Hyundai/Kia engine ECUs. The .bin files read can be saved on the PC and reused later.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and to the PC, make sure the vehicle's power supply is stable and switch the ignition ON.
  2. Open the Hyundai/Kia software, go into "Special functions" and open "ECU Flasher".
  3. Read the ECU first: read the Flash and the Configuration Data of the engine ECU.
  4. Save the .bin files you have read locally on the PC: they stay archived for later use and are your backup copy.
  5. Prepare the file to be written and use the update function to write Flash and/or Configuration Data back to the ECU.
  6. If you are unsure about a step, use the "Help" button on the screen: it gives additional assistance on using the function.
  7. When finished, switch the ignition off and on, run a scan again with "Scan for units" and use "Clear DTCs" to clear any faults generated during programming.
