Hyundai/Kia Configuration Data: "Dump tool" on dumps read with a programmer and "Read/Update Conf Data" over OBD

Two complementary functions for working on configuration data: the "Dump tool" works on dumps read from modules with a programmer (reading, saving, editing Configuration data and reading PIN codes), while "Read/Update Conf Data" updates the configuration data directly over OBD.

Procedure

1. For the "Dump tool": read the dump of the module you need with a programmer and save it to the PC.
2. Open the Hyundai/Kia software, go into "Special functions" and open "Dump tool".
3. Load the dump you have read into the "Dump tool": the function lets you read, save and edit the Configuration data and read the PIN codes as well as other information held in the unit.
4. Press the "Parameters" button to see which changes can be applied to the various parameters of that dump.
5. Apply the changes you need, save the resulting file and write the dump back into the module with the programmer.
6. To work over diagnostics instead, connect the AVDI to the OBDII, switch the ignition ON and open the "Read/ Update Conf Data" function: it lets you update the vehicle's Configuration data through On Board Diagnostics (OBD).
7. Save the configuration data file you have read locally on the PC: it can be viewed, edited and reloaded later.
8. Load the updated file to the vehicle with the update function, then check that the module concerned works properly.
