Key programming on Mazda CX-30 and Mazda 3 from 2019 with special function MZ001

Special function MZ001 programs keys on Mazda CX-30 and Mazda 3 built from 2019 on, with no hardware beyond the AVDI and a valid AMS. The key is programmed in full: starting, remote and keyless (where fitted).

Procedure

1. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle and to the PC, check you have a valid AMS and hook a stable 12V power supply/maintainer to the battery: the job takes several minutes and will not tolerate voltage drops.
2. Start the software and open the MZ001 special function for Mazda from the list.
3. Select the model you are working on (Mazda CX-30 or Mazda 3 from 2019 on).
4. In an all keys lost case it always pays to erase the previous keys first: use the "Delete all keys (smart or mechanical)" option. Before running it, move all keys away from the car (at least 2 metres / 6 ft).
5. Once you are in the key learning menu and have picked the model, press the "Execute" button: from here the software walks you through it step by step.
6. The software starts calculating the security key for BCM access: here you have to wait 7 minutes without touching anything and without disconnecting the AVDI.
7. When access is granted you will hear two or three distinct "beeps": that is the sign the calculation succeeded.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions to the letter to program the keys: the function programs the key in full (starting, remote and keyless where fitted).
9. At the end of the procedure check every key: engine starting, lock/unlock from the remote and the keyless function.
