Ford key programming from 2021 (F-150, Maverick, Mustang Mach-E, Transit): incode from the outcode or bench read of the BCM with the ZN085

On Ford vehicles from 2021 (F-150 2021+, Maverick 2023+, Mustang Mach-E 2021+, Transit 2021+ and in general the models with an RH850 1573 processor BCM) key programming has two routes: enter the incode calculated from the outcode generated by the software, or, when the incode cannot be obtained, read the BCM on the bench with the ZN085 and complete the procedure.

Procedure

1. Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket, start Abrites Diagnostics for Ford/Mazda from the Quick Start and select the vehicle's make, year, model and engine.
2. Open "Key learning" and start "Program Smart Key": the software reads the PATS data from the BCM (software version, serial number, VIN, immobilizer status, number of keys).
3. The "Manual incode input" window appears with the outcode generated by the software.
4. Route 1, if you can calculate the incode (Ford outcode/incode service): type it in the field and press "Ok"; the procedure carries on with key programming following the on-screen instructions.
5. Route 2, if the incode is not available: press "Cancel", remove the BCM from the vehicle and read it on the bench with the ZN085 in the RH850 menu, following the 1573 processor connection diagram shown in the software.
6. Refit the BCM, reconnect the AVDI and run "Program Smart Key" again: with the data read from the BCM the software completes the programming without asking for the incode.
7. When finished test every key: starting, remote and, if fitted, the keyless function; then clear the DTC generated.
