VW Crafter: engine ECU EEPROM, PIN, mileage, immobiliser and keys

A special function dedicated to the VW Crafter: it reads the engine ECU EEPROM together with the PIN code and component security, reads and edits the engine ECU mileage, activates/deactivates the immobiliser, programs keys with prepared transponders and runs diagnostics on the engine ECU and the immobiliser.

Procedure

1. Open the "VW Crafter" special function: the dialog appears with buttons for the available operations.
2. Press "ECU EEPROM" to open the same dialog as "Engine control unit": from there you can read the EEPROM, read the mileage and bypass the immobiliser. You do not need to select the engine type, it is detected automatically.
3. Press "Key learning" to open the key programming dialog: here too the model is selected automatically.
4. For key programming, switch the ignition ON with a valid key before starting the procedure. If you have no valid key, simply insert the key in the ignition switch: in that case the procedure takes about 5 minutes.
5. Once the procedure is finished, turn the ignition ON with each key you want to program.
6. Use "Engine control unit diagnostic" for standard engine ECU diagnostics (identification read-out, fault codes, etc.).
7. Use "Immobilizer diagnostic" for standard immobiliser diagnostics.
8. If the connection drops while communicating with the immobiliser, repeat the procedure.
