Unlocking the doors with the vehicle in SAFE mode (Door unlocking)

VAG Interface Classic Special Functions Advanced ⏱ 20-40 min 8 steps

The "Unlock doors" function is used to open the doors when the car is in SAFE mode. It requires some pins of the AVDI's DB25 interface to be wired manually to the vehicle's harness.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningWARNING: in most cases this function only unlocks the doors, it does NOT disarm the alarm. On the more recent hardware models a 12V supply must also be provided.

Procedure

  1. Locate the correct wires in the vehicle: orange with green = CAN-H, orange with brown = CAN-L.
  2. Connect the orange/green wire (CAN-H) to PIN6 of the OBDII connector.
  3. Connect the orange/brown wire (CAN-L) to PIN14 of the OBDII connector.
  4. Connect PIN4 of the OBDII connector (ground) to a metal part of the vehicle.
  5. The connection has to be made manually, with wires, between the required pins of the AVDI's DB25 interface and the vehicle harness.
  6. On the more recent hardware models also provide a 12V supply.
  7. Call up the "Unlock doors" special function: the dialog with the model list opens.
  8. Press the button matching the model you are working on.
