Magneti Marelli UDS cluster with 9S12: mileage, keys and adaptation

A dedicated function for Magneti Marelli instrument clusters with a 9S12 microcontroller and UDS diagnostic protocol, typically built after 2009. It is used for mileage reading and key making; it also allows component swapping, adaptation and handling of identification and configuration.

⚠ WarningWhen all keys are lost you have to read the microcontroller flash data and the EEPROM (External Configdata) and load them into the software: without this data the procedure cannot be completed.

Procedure

  1. Open "CAN Instrument" and select the cluster "Magneti Marelli with 9S12 uC (CAN UDS)".
  2. Check your licences: the mileage function requires a separate licence, dealer key creation requires the dealer key licence.
  3. Start the function: the dedicated dialog window comes up showing the data that has been read.
  4. Read the mileage from the car.
  5. To make a key use the dealer key creation function.
  6. If all keys are lost, read the microcontroller flash and the EEPROM (External Configdata) and load them into the software before going any further.
  7. If you are replacing the cluster, use the adaptation, identification and configuration functions.
