Immo V: engine ECU adaptation (A4/A5/Q5/A6/A7/A8)

VAG Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 30-60 min 6 steps

Used to adapt an engine ECU to the Immo V immobiliser on Audi A4/A5/Q5/A6/A7/A8, typically when fitting a used ECU from another car. To pull it off you need the ECU's existing immobiliser data.

⚠ WarningSome engine ECUs do not support changing the immobiliser data over OBDII: the procedure finishes successfully but the car will not start. In that case you have to modify the ECU EEPROM in boot mode: first use the "Clone ECU" function to prepare the EEPROM, write it, then run the ID synchronisation only.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the ECU's existing immobiliser data, by one of three routes: reading over OBDII (not all engine ECUs can be read over OBDII), a flash/EEPROM dump, or entering the donor ECU/car's CS and PIN manually.
  2. Open the "IMMO V" Parts Adaptation menu from the special functions.
  3. Load the immo data and then select the corresponding model.
  4. Start the adaptation and wait: the software reads the data from the BCM2 unit.
  5. Wait for the procedure completed successfully message.
  6. If the operation completes successfully but the engine will not start, switch to the boot mode route: use "Clone ECU" to prepare the ECU EEPROM, write it and then run the ID synchronisation only function.
